July has been a busy time for Angle RNLI, with four rescues in one week.

At 1.10pm on Sunday, July 7 the All-Weather Lifeboat launched following a 999 call from concerned walkers on the coast path at Marloes who reported hearing a female voice shouting for help at the base of the cliffs.

The Angle crew, arriving on scene around 20 minutes later, located a female casualty on the shoreline, cut off by the tide.

The lifeboat’s inflatable Y boat was deployed to recover the casualty, who told crew members she had spent the night there having been cut off the previous day. With no phone signal, she spent the night using her torch to attempt to attract attention.

She was handed over to the care of the Dale Coastguard Rescue Team at Milford Haven.

On Thursday, July 11 at 6:05pm, a 100 ton schooner approximately four miles west of The Smalls Lighthouse requested assistance, concerned that a damaged bow sprit would pierce the hull.

After securing the bow sprit, with help from St Davids Lifeboat crew, the casualty vessel was slowly escorted to Dale, arriving at around 1am.

On Saturday, July 13 at 1:28pm the All-Weather Lifeboat launched immediately following a call to the coastguard from a small vessel drifting onto rocks at Frainslake, Freshwater West.

Two other local vessels had also responded but, owing to the depth of water and proximity to the rocks, they were unable to assist.

Once on scene, the lifeboat’s inflatable Y boat was used to pass a tow, then the crew towed the vessel towards Milford Haven, where the vessel was placed on the marina lock pontoon. The Lifeboat was then stood down with thanks, back on her mooring and ready for action.

At 1:55am that night the All-Weather Lifeboat launched following a Coastguard report of a person in the water, possibly missing, at Lindsway Beach.

Dale and Broad Haven Coastguard Rescue Teams, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter R187 and the Police were also tasked to this incident.

Once on scene, the crew located two people in the water. The lifeboats inflatable Y boat was swiftly deployed to recover both casualties.

When on the Y boat, one of the casualties became unresponsive. Both were immediately transferred onto the Lifeboat and the crew began heading for the Mackerel Stage at Milford where the casualties were handed over into the care of paramedics.
