Police officers held a series of engagement events across Pembroke and Pembroke Dock last week, alongside Partner Agencies to promote safety schemes, support services and also to hand out safety equipment and information.

PCSO 8018 Wynn visited licensed premises across the locality alongside licensing officer Nigel Lewis aand Pembroke Street Pastors to promote the #AskForAngela campaign to licensees and the public.

The campaign provides a code for women to find help if they were feeling unsafe on a night out, encouraging females to walk up to a pub staff member and ask for ‘Angela’ - with the code word signalling to the employee that this person needs to be discreetly separated from a dangerous or uncomfortable situation.

PCSO 8101 Armstrong and PCSO 8162 Tebbutt attended a local school 6th Form to also promote the campaign and to give out anti-spiking bottle and glass toppers.

Other engagement events saw PCSOs visit Pembroke Leisure Centre promoting the #CallOutOnly campaign whilst giving out safety packs and safety advice; whilst PC 416 visited Tesco in Pembroke Dock alongside Action for Children Pembrokeshire Women and Girls Together Service, Pobl Group IDVAs (Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates), Hafan Cymru and the police force’s Domestic Abuse Officers to raise awareness of the support available for people suffering Domestic Abuse and to promote Clare’s Law (the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme).

Joint foot patrols were also carried out by PCSO Rob and Town Councillor Claire Francis-Hartery, who spent two hours posting information leaflets through the doors of multiple properties within the Market Ward of Pembroke Dock.

These patrols are carried out regularly by all members of the Pembroke Dock Neighbourhood Policing team and Town Councillors, serving as a good opportunity for the public to discuss any issues they may have.
