Tenby RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat the Haydn Miller was called upon to assist in the search for a missing person.
The lifeboat was launched at 1.45 pm on Friday (August 5), after a person went missing in the area of Pembrey sands, 12 miles north-east of Tenby.
The volunteer crew made best speed towards Pembrey, and on reaching the scene, began a shoreline search along with Burry Port inshore lifeboat, while a Police Helicopter searched from above and Coastguard and Police units searched along the shore.
After finishing their search pattern, with nothing found and with the tide dropping, the lifeboat was unable to assist any further, so was stood down to return to station, at 4 pm.
