Thursday, March 1, saw the signing of the first ateb tenancy. ateb is the new name for Pembrokeshire Housing who have been based in Pembrokeshire for the last 36 years.
Miss Griffiths and Mr. Cawley were delighted to receive the keys to their new home in Pembroke Dock that was built by local firm W. B. Griffiths.
Local councillor Paul Dowson was impressed with the new homes.
“Pembroke Dock has a great community and we need more quality affordable homes like these for local families. I am proud to have been part of this handover to the new tenants and it is refreshing to see these smaller housing projects providing much-needed housing stock in our town. I am also pleased to see that this development has been built and finished to a very high specification.”
The new homes in Pembroke Dock are part of an ongoing investment programme being delivered by ateb in partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council and the Welsh Government.
Nigel Sinnett, ateb’s group property services director, congratulated the contract team and said: “The contract and consultant teams have worked hard to deliver these new homes to such a high standard and on time, the site was constrained and had problems to overcome but the finished homes certainly complement the area.”
The project was designed by Lewis Partnership Architects, with Ivor Russell Partnership acting as cost consultants and Roger Casey Associates assisted with structural engineering advice.
WB Griffiths’ managing director, Neil Griffiths, was similarly pleased with the project.
“We have a good relationship with ateb and look forward to being able to work on some new projects together,” he said. “We are pleased that the homes have been received so well by ateb and their new tenants.”
ateb have recently announced the signing of three new contracts in Pembrokeshire that will deliver 172 new homes with a total investment of £19 million.
