‘Poor as a church mouse’ is the inspiration for a project to support the restoration project at St Andrew’s Church, Narberth, and Cefin the mouse is out and about in the town to raise awareness of the church’s community potential.
The project has been in preparation since before the pandemic and now that fund raising is fully back on track, church members are looking for ways to draw attention to the plans to improve church facilities. Not least is the need of a new boiler as the old one broke down just before the beginning of last winter; plans also include toilet facilities and a kitchen area with café-style seating for proposed community activities.
Cefin and his family are on board to help to advertise these plans and, it is hoped, add to the fund raising. Cefin has spent time already in premises around town, often suitably dressed for the occasion; so far he has visited the Paul Sartori shop, the Museum and its bookshop, Malthouse Vets and Andrew Price’s hair salon.
Cefin has a number of other bookings, so look out for him in Narberth and watch this space for his future activities. Any business interested in hosting Cefin can find him on Facebook (Narberth Church Mice) and Instagram (narberth_church_mice)or contact any member of the church.
