The Salvation Army band from Cardiff Canton will visit Tenby later this month, one that has seen Wales’ first ever bilingual ‘War Cry’ published.
On Saturday, June 29 the band will hold a service at the harbour at 2pm, and a concert at St Mary’s Church at 6.30pm that evening.
They will also lead the service at Tenby Salvation Army Hall on the Sunday at 10.30am. Everyone is welcome to join them then.
June also saw the first ever bilingual edition of The Salvation Army’s iconic newspaper, War Cry, published as the church and charity marks 150 years’ supporting communities and vulnerable people across Wales.
War Cry first came off the printing presses in 1879 in English, but this new bilingual edition is a milestone for The Salvation Army. It reads in Welsh front to back and the same content appears in English when flipped over and turned around. Captain Deryk Durrant, Leader of the Wrexham church, was charged with producing a special edition of the magazine to mark the anniversary year.
To collect a copy of the bilingual War Cry, visit the Tenby Salvation Army Citadel in Upper Frog Street.
The hall is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 10am-12.30pm, and a service is held each Sunday starting at 10.30am.
