ANDI Jones’ well-attended talk to Tenby Friendship Club was accompanied by photos of St Catherines Island, from before the fort was built up to the present day.
It was also interesting to find that Anne Elms’ parents had been caretakers on the island in the late Seventies and Eighties.
Andi said that was a period they didn’t have much knowledge of and that he would talk to Anne. There were photos from the wars, from when the Island was home to a zoo, from when it was a private house and today as a tourist attraction.
Thanks go to Andi for an interesting historical account.
The meeting this Wednesday (January 29) will be a mystery event - either a speaker or a fun time. On February 5, Mandy Jones will be speaking. New members are welcome: just turn up to Augustus Place Community Hall at 2pm.
