WEST WALES construction firm GD Harries sprinkled some festive spirit over families supported by Action for Children in Pembrokeshire.
The firm’s generous donation of a variety of gifts enabled the charity to provide 45 Christmas hampers to families throughout the county.
Each hamper contained a box of chocolates, popcorn or crisps, soft drinks or hot chocolate, a teddy or blanket, a board game, biscuits and extra sweet treats.
GD Harries is one of Wales’ largest independent suppliers of aggregates as well as being a major civil engineering company. The company owns seven granite, limestone and sandstone quarries, three asphalt plants, eight concrete plants and has its own sea transportation port at Pembroke Dock.
Vikki Phillips, Action for Children’s service coordinator in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, said: “We are so grateful to GD Harries for their generous donation.
“We have been able to make hampers for the families we support, and it’s already made a huge difference to their Christmas period. Things continue to be very tough for too many families so to be on the receiving end of such festive kindness has been wonderful.”
