Pembroke & Monkton Local History Society meets next on Saturday morning, May 4 for a talk and coffee morning in Pembroke Town Hall on the first day of the town’s week-long Festival.
The talk by Terry John will be the last talk of the present programme and is entitled ‘How to Speak Tudor’. The Tudors are always popular in Pembroke and Terry’s talk should prove to be an entertaining one, taking a light-hearted look at the words and expressions you might need to make your way successfully around the Tudor court – and the ones to avoid!
Doors open at 10am for coffee and a chat, as well as an opportunity to visit the Museum and Council Chamber, which are situated on the first floor of the Town Hall – a lift is available for disabled access. Everyone is welcome to attend – you do not have to be a member - and entry is free.
