THE Annual General Meeting of the Gild of Freemen of Pembroke took place on October 24 in the Council Chamber of Pembroke Town Hall.
After welcoming remarks by the Master of the Gild, Cllr Dennis Evans, the opening prayer was offered by Mrs Lyn Edwards.
The meeting elected the following officers for the coming year: Master: Cllr Dennis Evans; Deputy Master: Cllr Aden Brinn JP; Treasurer: Cllr Keith Nicholas; Clerk: Mr Ian Jones; Press Officer: Rev’d Canon Roger Jones; Chaplain: Rev’d Canon Roger Jones
The Annual Accounts were presented and accepted.
In his review of the previous year, the Master thanked members for their support and noted that the Gild had donated £250 to Homeless Pembrokeshire. He was also pleased to recall that the admission of three new Freemen of Pembroke took place in April.
The next event of the Gild of Freemen of Pembroke will be a service of Morning Prayer on Sunday, November 17 at St Mary’s Church, Pembroke when the guest preacher will be The Rev’d Martin Cox, previous Rector of Monkton Rectorial Benefice. The service will be followed by luncheon at The Coach House, Pembroke.
