ON a wet and cold Monday what else is there to do but watch endless repeats on the box? 14 people had the answer: go to Penally Village Hall for a pleasant afternoon playing Duplicate Bridge with friends.

Top pair on April 29 was Lucy and Barry with 65%, followed by Paul B and Stuart, who had escaped the doldrums at last with 62.5%. Third was a tie between new stars Dods and Dinah, and Brenda and Alan with 52.5% The only Slam was made by Dave and Peter.
