KILGETTY WI was well attended for the first meeting of 2025 at Kilgetty Community Centre.
Vice president Jane Gilbert welcomed members in the absence of president Lyn Lawson. Members signed a card for Lyn wishing her a speedy recovery after her accident.
Treasurer Sylvia Wright delivered the financial report and birthday wishes were given to three members celebrating their birthdays during January. Linda Gough announced she has a new Grandson.
Members agreed to be involved in dressing the window of WI House in Haverfordwest in April.
Helen Knight very kindly donated a well equipped first aid box.
The suggested WI resolutions were read out and members voted ‘Eliminate Landfill of Medication Packaging’ to be put forward to Pembrokeshire Federation WI. Some members donated dental items in support of the current resolution Dental Health Matters. Kilgetty WI will continue to collect donations until April and members were encouraged to contribute to this initiative.
The newsletter was read out and Any Other Business included information on the Rhos Marmalade Show.
A gift and card have been sent to past President Anne Pugh as she and her husband have moved to pastures new. The ladies wish them happiness in their new home.
A rose will be planted in the Community garden in memory of Eileen Philips who was a long standing member of Kilgetty WI.
The lucky winner of this month’s raffle was Julia Mills.
After the business matters concluded members enjoyed refreshments and a Beetle Drive with lots of fun and laughter.
The next meeting will be held on February 11, when the speaker will talk on tea tasting.
