A warm St Issell’s WI welcome was given to two new ladies, Helen Johns and Amanda Fayle, and to the speakers for the April meeting, Roz and Laura from the Yorkshire Building Society.
Roz and Laura advised the Saundersfoot-based WI ladies how not to be caught out by the many and varied scams; to be aware of unusual phone calls, emails and anything that didn’t seem quite right. They answered lots of questions, and Jeanette John thanked them for a most informative talk.
Following refreshments, Sue Gould was thanked for the flowers for the top table; birthday girls for April were Mary Howells and Maureen North. The ladies who had taken part in Anything Goes (much to their enjoyment), the Rosebowl Competition (wherein Mary Howells had won a cup for the cake section) and the quiz were thanked for all their hard work.
There was discussion about the May meeting which falls on VE Day. Ladies will dress in red, white and blue, there will be suitable refreshments and Anne Leech is arranging games.
There was also discussion about the proposed Puddings and Prosecco evening to be held on June 18. Several ladies were to attend the Wales Conference on April 16. 2026 diaries were now available to order, names to be given to Pat. It was also decided to order bulbs and if ladies wished to order their own, names could be given to Bev’d Bennett.
Mary Lawrence was this month’s competition winner, and the lucky raffle winner was Joyce Ludlow. President Diane wished ladies a safe journey home.
