MORRIS Brothers owner Howard Lewis came to Augustus Place Hall with his sister and daughter and talked to around 30 people from Tenby about the history of their store.

During their visit to Tenby Friendship Club on Wednesday, November 5 they showed old photos and account books, and everyone learnt a lot more about Tenby.

A lot of memories were spoken about as well. The Lewis family purchased the stores from Mrs Morris, but because of the quotas that were issued by the Government during the Second World War, they were unable to change the name - a little thing that effected their history! It seems that Mr Lewis is quite used to being called Mr Morris!

Last Wednesday the Club took a Christmas Shopping trip to Trostre, and on Wednesday 20 the Club has been invited to hear a talk in St Teilo’s Catholic Church (opposite the Five Arches in Tenby), with members requested to be there for 2pm.

The Club will reconvene in Augustus Place Hall on November 27 when local musician Billy Cole is coming to entertain the members. There will also be a table showing Maureen’s Christmas Cakes for Cancer Charity, and gifts for Patch’s Children’s Christmas will be accepted.
