The Welsh patron saint of lovers, St Dwynwen, is celebrated in Wales every year on January 25.

This week Rhossili in Gower sparkled in the winter sunshine. On a reasonably clear day, Rhossili is visible from Tenby - its curvy, bumpy coastline can be seen across the water from many viewpoints in the town and beaches.

National Trust Cymru, who care for Rhossili, say it’s a picture-perfect place to say ‘rwy’n dy garu di' to someone special on the most romantic day in the Welsh calendar.

Under 70 miles away from Tenby, an estimated journey time of 1 hour 43 minutes by car, this romantic idyll could be the perfect choice for a day trip or mini-break.

According to the Met Office, the weather’s looking cool but sunny for Saturday. Probably a good idea to check the weather forecast before setting off, mind!
