Among planning applications considered by Manorbier Community Council recently was one from Park Farm Holiday Park for the erection of decking (part retrospective) to static caravans.

Councillors expressed some surprise at the application as they had not previously seen any similar applications from sites such as Lydstep Beach Caravan Park.

Clr. Hughes explained he had spoken to Sue Davies, of the planning department, to enquire why the application was being raised, and had been told that various parks were asking for retrospective permission to cover the sites.

There was some 'confusion' as to why this park had been 'singled out', given that it was a smaller park and there was no visual impact to anyone.

After some further discussion, Clr. Hall proposed that the application be recommended for approval, seconded by Clr. Williams. A vote was taken and all were in favour.

It was also suggested that the question should be asked as to how many other sites within the National Park area would be requiring retrospective permission and what the planning requirements for that would be.

A further application was received in respect of the removal of a sycamore tree at Ryefield, Manorbier. Again all were in favour.

Notice was also received of planning approval for a roff conversion and internal alterations at Cuckoo Grove, The Green, Lydstep.
