Carmarthenshire County Council has successfully taken action against a dog owner who failed repeatedly to clear dog excrement from her garden.

Llanelli Magistrates fined Ms Kelly Williams of Penygroes £215, plus legal costs of £3,470.50 and an £86 victim surcharge.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for enforcement, Cllr Aled Vaughan Owen said:

“I would like to thank our Environmental Health Team for bringing about this prosecution. Even within their own gardens, dog owners must dispose of their pet’s poo responsibly, as in addition to the unpleasant smell and the mess created, there is a potential health risk associated with dog faeces.”
