A DRIVER from Blackpool was recently found guilty of driving on a Pembrokeshire road without care and attention.

On January 13, Karen Hyland, of Raikes Parade appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court, having entered a guilty plea on November 27, 2024 to driving a Volkswagen Transporter without a licence covering that class of vehicle. The offence carried a fine of £238 and six penalty points.

The 60-year-old had previously pleaded not guilty to driving on the A40 adjacent to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, without due care and attention, but was found guilty of overtaking at an unsafe distance to a cyclist whilst other vehicles were passing in the oncoming lane.

Hyland was fined an additional £357, plus £650 costs and a £238 surcharge.
