A Haverfordwest man is £1,000 poorer after admitting driving over 80 miles per hour in Carmarthenshire when the speed limit was 50mph.
Appearing before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on January 9, Andrew Lee Pemberthy, of Tudor Gardens, pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes motor vehicle on the A40 trunk road at Llanllwch, Carmarthen at a speed exceeding 50mph last April. The speed recorded by means of LASER was 83 miles per hour.
Mr Pemberthy was fined £660, plus a victim services surcharge of £264 and costs of £110 (a total of £1,034). The 52-year-old’s driving record was endorsed with six points. He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months; this was an obligatory disqualification due to repeat offending.
