A Haverfordwest trader is £1,000 worse off after pleading guilty to unfair trading offences.

Timothy Dean Lovell, of Merlins Bridge, appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on May 23, when three charges were dismissed as no evidence had been offered.

The 34-year-old admitted engaging in a commercial practice at Treffgarne in March 2023 which, by omitting contract details, was misleading, likely causing the consumer to take a transactional decision he would not have taken otherwise.

Lovell was fined £300, plus £240 to victim services and costs of £250. He was fined a further £300 for a similar offence at St Davids in July 2023; no compensation was ordered because parties acknowledged there was no disadvantage with the presentation of the leaflet.
