This winter, Bluestone is set to become even more magical than usual as it transforms into a winter wonderland for the first time since 2019.
Starting in November, the resort will host its much-anticipated Kingdom of the Elves celebration, where the resort and its enchanting ‘Serendome’ – a giant transparent dome that serves as a hub of activities – will be transformed into a life-sized snow globe, filled with festive experiences.
Guests on a Staycation at the resort near Narberth can expect visits to Santa’s Grotto, playful interactions with roaming elves, and a host of family-friendly activities including the Elf School Journey, Santa’s Lodge, and Rudolph’s Breakfast Barn.
Imagine toasting s’mores by an open fire, then strolling through breathtaking Welsh winter landscapes with a mulled wine in hand. Whether you're visiting Santa’s Grotto or unwinding at the award-winning spa, twinkling lights guide you through the resort’s endless festive fun for both children and adults. And at the end of the day, you’ll retreat to your cosy, luxurious lodge, surrounded by your favourite people.
Guests visiting Kingdom of the Elves this year can get stuck into complimentary activities, including the Jingle Jive, a celebration with Christmas characters, festive games, disco, and singalongs, Polar Postal, where Santa’s elves will collect little ones’ special letters, and Christmas Countdown, a daily celebration with the elves as the big draws nearer.
Extra activities on offer include Santa’s Lodge, nestled in the trees, and the Elf School Journey, where guests discover Christmas secrets, learn festive skills, and graduate with joy. The day can also begin with the Elf Breakfast, a lively buffet filled with singing, dancing, and plenty of fun alongside the playful elves who bring the Kingdom of the Elves to life.
Recently voted third best resort in the UK and Wales’ top resort by Which?, Bluestone is a five-star self-catering resort, spanning 500 acres of Pembrokeshire countryside. The Christmas magic will extend across the entire resort, with the elves spreading festive cheer throughout the Blue Lagoon, the subtropical water park, and the Serendome – the UK’s largest ‘umbrella’ and the hub of entertainment.
Bluestone’s firm favourites will still be running alongside the seasonal events, with a wide range of adventure-filled activities to choose from. For guests looking for a little respite from the festivities, the doors will also be open to the award-winning ‘Well Spa’.
Operations Director at Bluestone, Rebecca Rigby, said:
“The Bluestone team is thrilled to welcome Kingdom of the Elves back to the resort. Our ‘Christmasland’ event was a huge success over the last few years, but Kingdom of the Elves has always held a special place in our guests’ hearts.
“This year, we’re pulling out all the stops to make the festival even more special. With exciting new events and mischievous elves spreading festive cheer from the moment guests arrive, it’s the perfect way for all ages to embrace the Christmas spirit. We can’t wait to turn the Christmas lights on and for everyone to experience the magic.”
Last year, the resort added 80 new platinum lodges to its lineup, each designed to accommodate up to eight guests and includes complimentary access to an electric buggy. With these spacious lodges, Bluestone is looking forward to welcoming more multi-generational families, especially during the festive season.
The resort has also enhanced its sustainable efforts with its brand-new solar farm, which launched in September 2024. Aiming to provide 30 percent of Bluestone’s annual electricity, it will help power this year’s magical lights across the resort for the first time.
