This year Cardigan hosts an extra special Christmas experience!

Festive celebrations begin on November 30 with the turning on of the town's Christmas Light, Cardigan Castle's Christmas Fair, the launch of the Festival of Light Trail through the town and late-night shopping.

Gŵyl y Golau, is presented by Small World Theatre and supported by Cardigan Town Council. It has received financial support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund as part of the Cynnal y Cardi Community Fund, administrated by the Cynnal y Cardi team for Ceredigion County Council.

Join Cardigan's Mayor Cllr Olwen Davies and Cardigan Town Council in an uplifting ceremony to turn on the Christmas Lights at The Guildhall on Saturday, November 30, 4.30pm, with a choir of local school children, Santa’s grotto in The Guildhall and an illuminated Christmas tractor run!

Expect a twinkling of the town's Christmas lights and a magnificent tree, as well as extra illuminated features on the Light Trail; with beautiful giant lanterns on buildings, artists' films in shop windows and more.

Late night shopping on November 30 promises a delightful array of Christmas wares from our unique, independent stores. Come early and enjoy Cardigan Castle’s Christmas Fair with its wealth of craft stalls, festive food and drink on offer. All this plus a free Richards Bros. bus service between Aberaeron and Cardigan.

The festival enjoyment continues throughout December with West Wales’ finest Lantern Parade brought to you by Small World Theatre on December 6, 7pm. In the winter calendar there’s also wreath making and pottery workshops, live music, talks, exhibitions, theatre and more at various venues across the town.
