A free drop-in event on Saturday, November 4 will offer visitors the chance to meet the illustrator of award-winning book The Lost Words as she spends the day sharing her work in the Gallery.

Renowned illustrator Jackie Morris will be appearing alongside her own work at Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre in St Davids on Saturday, November 4 for a unique event that forms part of the current Geiriau Diflanedig - The Lost Words exhibition.

Based on the The Lost Words, which explores the relationship between language and the living world, the touring exhibition brings together the original artwork by Jackie Morris, alongside the English language poems by Robert Macfarlane and Welsh language poems written by Mererid Hopwood.

Oriel y Parc manager Rachel Perkins said:

“This event will be a wonderful opportunity to delve into the enchanting world of The Lost Words and connect with the artist behind its captivating illustrations.

“The exhibition, which opened at the beginning of July, has proved very popular and has also given visitors an insight into the efforts being made to combat the threats that nature and the Welsh language face.”

Jackie Morris: Drawing and Painting in the Gallery will take place at Oriel y Parc between 10am and 4pm.

Words and watercolours from the book are also on display at Yr Ysgwrn in Gwynedd as part of the collaboration between Amgueddfa Cymru, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park Authority.
