Llanelli’s social, arts, health, mental-health, and well-being community organisation People Speak Up is hosting free family fun activities across Carmarthenshire as part of their Street Play Sir Gar throughout the Summer Holidays.
The free outdoor play sessions from July 22 to September 2, encourage young people and their families to enjoy the great outdoors and enjoy play in their community.
People Speak Up have been delivering the free Street Play sessions, supported by Carmarthenshire Council for the last few years. Street Play is taken directly into the community and encourages young people to step away from their screens, play games outdoors and help build friendships with other young people. This year, they’ve even introduced Skateboarding to the programme, which is now one of the new Olympics sports at the Paris Olympics this month.
Street Play Sir Gar will visit different locations across Carmarthenshire on different days of the week. Street Play Sir Gar will be heading to Ammanford Park, Ffwrnes Fach (the old Zion Chapel) & Maes y Gors, Llanelli, Parc Le Conquet, Llandeilo, Llanmiloe Recreation Ground, Park Hall, Carmarthen, Parc Pontyberem and Trimsaran Leisure Centre. Full dates and times can be found on the People Speak Up website peoplespeakup.co.uk/street-play-sir-gar
People Speak Up will also be running free summer activities for young people aged 11 and over who are interested in digital activities, building digital board games, volunteering, arts and crafts as part of it's Young People Speak Up programme based PSU’s home, Llanelli’s Health, Arts and Wellbeing Hub, Ffwrnes Fach (the old Zion Chapel) next door to Ffwrnes Theatre, in Llanelli.
