Narberth is getting into the Christmas spirit, as Mayor Elizabeth Rogers encourages people not only to shop locally but to give happiness wherever they can.

“First and foremost, Seasons greetings one and all,” she said in her Christmas message. 

“Again, this year I have to think hard about what to say about Christmas.  

“Whilst I would encourage you all to spend your hard-earned money locally of course, these days especially, we need to keep an eye on spending.  So, my Christmas message is to give what you can afford not what is expected.  

“Give neighbours a smile, give happiness wherever you can and enjoy time with your loved ones at every opportunity.  Take time to look at your own town or village and ask what does every neighbourhood offer each other for Christmas. 

“It may be the little things like the Christmas lights someone has put up for everyone to enjoy.  

“It may be the neighbour that takes time to visit the lonely or it might be you taking part by simply taking the time to wish everyone a HAPPY CHRISTMAS.”

And more than one Father Christmas will be parading around Narberth town centre this weekend, as the fundraising Santa Run returns.

The charity event organised by Narberth and Whitland Rotary will take place on Sunday, December 10, at 12 noon, to raise funds for the Pembrokeshire Foodbank based in Narberth.
