Following Saundersfoot Footlights’ successful auditions in early January, rehearsals are well underway at the Regency Hall in Saundersfoot to bring Grease – The Musical to the village.
Along with seasoned performers who have been with Saundersfoot Footlights for a number of years, the company has welcomed many new faces to the group, and the participants are being put through their paces by the Society’s new Musical Director Angharad Sanders.
Angela Walton picks up the reins once again as Director for the show - following the success of last year’s Pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - with Jordan Dickin assisting in a supporting role.
The show will run from May 29, through to Saturday, June 3, and it is hoped to have tickets available online soon.
All of this comes as Saundersfoot Footlights goes through a period of change following the departure of a number of long-standing members including former Chairman Keith Williams, his wife Pat – head of costume, and their daughter Jo, who was the Society’s Secretary. Their combined experience and knowledge will be sadly missed by those who have worked alongside of them for many years.
The Saundersfoot Footlights team would like to express their gratitude for all of the dedication and effort that they have given to the society during their time serving the committee.
Other members who have stood down will also be sadly missed.
Acting Chair Andy Griffiths has called a Special General Meeting to be held in the Sunlounge at the Regency Hall, at 7pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, with a view to elect new members to the vacant roles. All current members of the Society are encouraged to attend.
In the meantime, new society members have already been co-opted onto the committee to assist with both the running of the production of Grease, and of the society itself, and are working together towards bring this popular and well-known show to the locality.
