FOR the latest SPAN Arts commission for Love Stories to Nature, artist Rhiannon Rees is running a Gentle Painting project with dry soil, rocks and pebbles collected from around Pembrokeshire.

Foraging for pigments and creating Welsh paints is key for Rhiannon. Once, one side of her family mined the Welsh land, and the other farmed the land.

Rhiannon will be holding two workshops, where communities are invited to learn how to make gentle paints using the earths collected from their samples. The project will end with a tea and painting party where everyone will be able to use the gentle paints to share their own love stories to Pembrokeshire.

Workshops: 10am-12 noon, Friday, August 23, St Davids Memorial Hall, High Street, St Davids. SA62 6SD; 10am-12 noon, August 18, SPAN Arts Building, Town Moor, Narberth. SA67 7AG

Final tea party and sharing of project: 12:30-3:30pm, September 28, Templeton Community Hall, Templeton, Narberth SA67 8SB
