HARVEY’S Murder Mysteries have had a busy 2024 raising funds, as well as much mayhem and hilarity, all around Tenby and surrounding area.
The group, established over 30 years ago by Mike and Maggie Thorn, handed the baton on to the late Hilary and Len Harvey, and then subsequently to June Howell, with full supporting cast.
Stalwarts include Rhob Pattinson, Jayne King, and Adrian Davies, while latest recruits include Lucinda Birt, Glyn Morgan and Amelia Leese.
Special thanks are due to Dinah Blagg, who played Vera Lyn, in ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ back in September. Her ‘We'll Meet Again’ had the audience in Cosheston Memorial Hall almost in tears. Thanks also to Carew Cheriton Control Tower who lent RAF uniforms for a note of true authenticity.
The year finished on a high note, with over £800 raised at the Giraldus Centre, Manorbier for Parkinson’s Research, and £520 raised at the Amroth Arms for the Velindre Cancer Centre, Llanelli.
Many other local charities have benefitted from the group’s antics over the last 12 months, and thanks go to the many local business who have generously donated raffle prizes to augment the group's fundraising efforts.
Best for glamour, all agreed, was the Hallowe’en themed party, at the Giltar Hotel in Tenby - where a ‘heinous murder’ was committed on board a luxury liner in the midst of fine-dining. Costumes ranged from Downton Abbey to Peaky Blinders, with an additional fringe of Charleston dresses.
2025 promises to be another successful year: February (date TBC) in The Harbwr Bar, Saundersfoot, followed by more dastardly deeds at Amroth Parish Hall, Summerhill on March 8, and at the Giraldus Centre on April 5. For further details, contact the venues.
