The Smartest Giant in Town, a ‘must see’ musical adaptation, based on the bestselling book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, will be heading for stage of the Torch Theatre in Pembrokeshire this November.

George wishes he wasn’t the scruffiest giant in town. So, when he sees a new shop selling giant-sized clothes, he decides it’s time for a new look: smart trousers, smart shirt, stripy tie, shiny shoes. Now he’s the smartest giant in town… until he bumps into some animals who desperately need his help – and his clothes!

This heart-warming co-production by Fierylight and Little Angel Theatre is all about friendship and helping those in need is brought to life in a musical, puppet-filled adventure, following on from Little Angel Theatre’s bestselling adaptations of Julia Donaldson’s picture books including The Singing Mermaid and The Everywhere Bear.

The production is nearly an hour long and aimed at children two to eight years old. This musical adaptation has been described by the Guardian as ‘a fun family show’, was awarded four stars by the Evening Standard and is generally regarded as a ‘must see’ show.

Based at Milford Haven, the Torch Theatre offers an excellent programme of distinctive, relevant and accessible arts activity that has a loyal and growing audience. The theatre exists for its audiences. Its mission is to meet - and exceed - their expectations.
