FOOD and music fans will be heading to Narberth this weekend for a tasty serving of live music, food and entertainment.

The annual Narberth Food Festival offers a flavour of some of the best Pembrokeshire and Welsh food and drink businesses around.

First on the menu is an education day for local schoolchildren on Friday before the festival opens to the public on Saturday, September 28 at 10am.

With more than 45 stalls, street food, chef demonstrations, talks, and tastings there is sure to be something for everyone.

Hosting the music stage will be local music broadcaster BB Skone with a packed programme of live performances across both days.

There will also be a street food area and bar, as well as additional entertainment and children’s craft activities to ensure something for all the family.

And with the festival taking over part of the Town Moor car park, the usual festival park and ride scheme will be in place throughout the weekend with additional arrangements to allow overspill parking at Bloomfield while the festival marquees are in place in the latter part of this week.

Holly Robinson, of the food festival committee, said: “We are delighted to be able to showcase another great mix of innovative, passionate traders, chefs and entertainers at Narberth Food Festival.

“It is the perfect chance to discover something new, hear about some of the great work going on locally, and enjoy spending time with family and friends as part of the festivities.”

The festival committee is a small team of volunteers who live and/or work in the community.

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helps us put this event on each year,” said Holly. “And we look forward to welcoming new and returning festival-goers this weekend.

“It is the perfect opportunity to not only enjoy the festival, but also explore what Narberth has to offer. We are fortunate to have so many brilliant and independent shops, restaurants and food businesses in the town.”

The festival welcomes the whole family with entry £5 adults each day and free for children under 16. Gates open 10am to 6pm Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.

Dogs are permitted in outdoor areas, but not in the main food marquees.

A BSL interpreter will sign for demonstrations in the food theatre on Saturday.

The park and ride scheme runs from Narberth primary school (from the Penblewin direction) and by A&C Aggregates on the Templeton side of town.
