The MEEP Communications Toolkit is a comprehensive digital resource designed to bridge the gap between communities, policymakers, and industry by providing clear, accessible information about marine renewable energy, enabling community leaders, educators, and developers to engage in meaningful dialogue and advocate for their best interests.

“This toolkit is a vital step in ensuring communities play a role in marine renewable energy developments,” said Holly Skyrme, Project Lead. “We encourage marine energy developers, community leaders, and educational institutions to use the toolkit to start clearer, more open conversations with local communities about the future of marine energy in Wales.”

With the Celtic Sea positioned to become a world leader in floating offshore wind, Wales stands on the cusp of transformational economic opportunities. Ensuring coastal communities are part of this journey is essential for a sustainable energy transition.

MEEP ensures that people have access to clear and trusted information about marine renewables, that communities can actively participate in shaping this transition, with local voices represented in decision-making processes.

Designed for anyone working in marine energy, local councils and policymakers, non-profits, community groups and teachers, the Toolkit is co-produced with communities, and feedback is welcomed to improve its accessibility and impact.

It includes a ‘How-to’ video, a range of free educational resources on marine renewable energy, and a comprehensive FAQ section.
