The fish and chip supper has long been a feature of the Tenby RNLI Fundraising Committee’s Autumn campaign, and last year the Committee were very grateful to Matthew Ronowitz of The Qube who delivered many delicious suppers to members and supporters, helping to raise £500.

This year, though, the Committee has the exciting prospect of actually getting together to enjoy the fish and chips and the company of friends old and new.

This year’s supper will be held at The Qube on Monday, November 8. Bookings should be made either by phone or in person at the Qube. Don’t miss out – book early!

The Committee is also hoping to hold its Christmas Coffee Morning later in the month (more details to follow), but that will be a chance for locals and visitors alike to buy Christmas gifts and cards while helping the RNLI.

The Committee were delighted to meet in person last month at Cottage Mews.

Although some members have managed to meet on Zoom over the last difficult year nothing beats getting together over a coffee, discussing ways to raise much needed funds.

As has been obvious from the many reports in the Observer, the pandemic didn’t put a stop to people – and dogs needing the services of the Tenby lifeboats.

Most of the fundraising events have had to be cancelled or postponed but the Committee is very grateful to all the shops in the town and surrounding area who keep an RNLI box on their counters.

Judging by how much money has been counted and banked from those coming in, shoppers are still happy to put their change to good use and, for this, the Committee thanks you all.

The committee did manage ro run the RNLI Ramble in the spring and were delighted when that resulted in £2,300 being banked at the end of May. Well done to all who rambled. It is hoped to repeat the event next year.

The RNLI Shop at the Lifeboat House is open from 11 am to 3 pm every day except Friday, but desperately needs more volunteers so that it can be open every day and, possibly, for longer hours next year.
