As often happens, the children started going back to school and summer came out of hiding. It was a beautiful day as 30 club members made their way to Stackpole Court.

On Saturday, September 2, Brian, backed by Donna, led the Speedies to the Eight Arch bridge and over the hill to Stackpole Quay where they stopped for refreshments. The Steadies visited the Hidden Bridge before walking past the Ice House on their way to the Mencap Gardens cafe for their break.

The following Thursday, on another smashing day, eight Nordic Walkers gathered at Bosherston for their walk on the Stackpole estate. Led by John, they went over the headland to Barafundle, before going through the woodland and round the lily ponds to get back to the start.

On Saturday 9 the club gathered outside the RAOB club in Kilgetty for a choice of walks. The Steadies headed for Saundersfoot via Errox Hill and St Issell's church, while the Speedies took the very scenic route via the Dramway and Wiseman's Bridge.

The following Saturday there was a well attended town walk. After overnight rain it stayed dry all morning. Both groups headed for Black Rock, past the newly remodelled golf club house. As the Speedies powered on to Penally, the Steadies turned over the railway bridge into Kiln Park for a much shorter walk. The Speedies returned via the path across the golf course.

Saturday 23 was one of those remarkable four seasons’ weather days. For those venturing out early it was winter, with cold clear weather. Walkers passed through spring around breakfast time as it warmed up. By lunchtime it was a glorious summer’s day. Then in the evening autumn arrived with Storm Nigel and his sideways rain. Despite all that, the morning was just made for walking. The Speedies and Steadies gathered at New Hedges Village Hall for a walk to Saundersfoot. The tide was too high to use the beach, so the Speedies cut onto the Coast Path and followed it all the way. The Steadies took the easier option and stayed on the pavement down to the village. The Steadies 2 met in Saundersfoot and enjoyed a short walk on the sands at Glen Beach. Everyone enjoyed refreshments in the sunshine at the end. What a lovely morning out!

On Thursday 28, a cooler but dry autumn day, Brian led a much reduced band of Nordic walkers on a circular route near Broadhaven North. From the village they went up the long steep path through Haroldston Woods, coming out by historic St. Madoc of Ferns church. They then followed lanes and field paths to the Coast Path. They were delighted to spot some mushrooms here and there. Once on the Coast Path they followed it back to Broad Haven. It was a real battle walking south into the strong wind, but the rain held off and the epic panoramic views made it all worthwhile.
