One of the leading housebuilders in the region has made a significant donation of £6,000 to support a Carmarthen Family Centre.
The donation is part of Persimmon Homes' national Community Champions scheme, which gives away £750,000 each year to support local causes and charities across Britain.
Carmarthen Family Centres is a vital community service that provides a range of support services to families, including childcare, health, and employment.
The organisation operates across several locations, and the donation will be used to provide valuable support to families in the local community, and assist plans to upgrade its back garden communal facility at its Ty Hapus centre on Park Hall.
Sharon Bouhali, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said:
"We are delighted to support the Carmarthen Family Centres, who provide such an important service to families in the local area.
“We understand the difficulties that families can face, particularly with the current economic and cost-of-living challenges, and the support offered by the Family Centres can make a real difference to people's lives.“
The Carmarthen Family Centres have expressed their gratitude for the donation, which they say will make a significant impact on their ability to provide vital support services to families in the region.
Sam Mason, a parent representative at the organisation, said:
“We would just like to say a big thank you to Persimmon Homes West Wales for their kind donation to our family centre Ty Hapus.
“This is a massive help in making a big improvement to our outside area, and extra support for our families who attend.
“The family centre means the world to me and my two-year-old and all the families that attend past and present. We have built our little group up over the past few years after COVID, welcoming parents and making memories.
“I'm so glad to have it in our local area, and the staff have been amazing with supporting everyone who attends, providing good information and courses for all. Once again thank you Persimmon Homes and all at Ty Hapus.”
Helen Price, Manager at Ty Hapus, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes West Wales for this generous donation. The demand for our services has only increased in recent years as communities face increased challenges, and we want to provide families with the best possible support.
“This money is such a boost and will be put to good use, helping us to provide essential support services to local families and improve our on-site facilities and experience.”
The donation has also been welcomed by Carmarthenshire councillors, Emlyn Schiavone and Russell Sparks, who attended a cheque presentation held at the centre this week.
