A very special guest turned up at the 1st Pembroke Haven Scout Group Christmas party on Wednesday - it was none other than the Mayor of Pembroke Dock, Clr. Andrew McNaughton.
Clr. McNaughton explained to the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts that he had been a member of the 1st Pembroke Haven Scout Group for many years and that he had attained his Chief Scout Award in 1971.
He asked the members how many years ago that was, one Scout put her hand up and said 50 years. Clr. McNaughton explained he was not that old, but it was 40 years ago!
He explained that he had attended the formal awards presentation in Haverfordwest the week before and was proud to see his old group have so many members achieve the Chief Scout Award.
Clr. McNaughton offered to the group's Akela, Vickki Booth, that he would attend the next available meeting to formally present those who were not able to attend the ceremony in Haverfordwest.
On Wednesday, Clr. McNaughton presented the certificates to Ioan Nevatte, Rhys Doyle and Rhys Thomas.
Before leaving, Clr. McNaughton wished the different sections well in their future Scouting.
