In advance of tomorrow’s tree-switch on ceremony with Santa, Pembroke Dock Mayor Cllr George Manning has issued this message to local residents…
“As 2023 draws to a close it marks an end to another challenging year for us all.
“The difficulties in dealing with covid, the costs incurred and its after-effects, have resulted in the high inflation we experience today, which affects us all, particularly the elderly, poorer families and those most vulnerable. Although we are told that inflation has lowered, there is little evidence of this in our weekly shopping and fuel bills and many still struggle to make ends meet and keep warm.
“Pembroke Dock Town Council will continue with financial support of the warm room projects which were started in various locations in the town in 2021/22. My thanks to all those who assist with this project and the many voluntary groups in the town.
“The turning on of Christmas tree lights at Lower Meyrick Street will take place at approximately 6pm on December 8 when Santa will arrive on a motor bike ride through the town starting from the Memorial Park. Please come and join with us for this event.
“On behalf of all Town Councillors and our staff, I wish you all a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and that 2024 will be a better year for you all.”
