Pembroke Dock Town Council recently awarded Frame with funding of £2,500 for a Community Fridge.

Members of the Town Council commented that Frame do an excellent job in the community and support so many people in Pembroke Dock in many ways.

FRAME commented that there is currently a Community Fridge in Haverfordwest which has been a huge success helping many members of the community.

Since opening the Haverfordwest Community Fridge over 30 tonnes of surplus food waste from reaching landfill sites has been saved.

The Haverfordwest Community Fridge was originally funded by The Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme administered by WCVA.

Pembrokeshire FRAME has recently been funded by The National Lottery Fund, Moondance Foundation and The Voluntary Services Emergency Fund to deliver its very popular Bags of Care project, which saw FRAME partnering with The Green Shed Café to deliver over 5,500 free hot meals and hundreds of free bags of community fridge surplus food to vulnerable individuals in Haverfordwest and Merlin’s Bridge to ensure that people were supported and not forgotten during the Covid pandemic.

During the project requests were received from individuals in Pembroke Dock keen to receive support from the Community Fridge.

The Town Council therefore put in an application for funding to Pembroke Dock Town Council for start-up funding of £2,500 and are delighted to say that they will be opening the Community Fridge at some point in the early new year.

Please keep an eye on the Facebook page @Pembrokeshire Frame and website: https://www.pembrokeshire-frame.org.uk/ for more information.

FRAME are also very grateful to The Bluestone Foundation for kindly pledging funding for a new fridge which will be installed at the Pembroke Dock Frame showroom soon.

FRAME have stated that they have a number of plans for projects at the Pembrokeshire FRAME Pembroke Dock site including re-upholstery and furniture upcycling workshops coming soon.
