Councillors in Tenby are to look at data from the new Hafalnod housing development to the rear of the town’s Knowling Mead to take forward in ensuring a similar ‘local letting policy’ is applied to the affordable housing provision proposed for the Brynhir scheme.
At a recent remote meeting of the town council, Clr. Mike Evans told his fellow members that following on the success of the Hafalnod scheme, it was never too early to start looking at ensuring the same local letting policy was applied to the Brynhir development - which will see the construction of 144 new homes on the land.
Following further discussions on the matter at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk Andrew Davies said: “We are going to ask Ateb for a breakdown of the demographics of those that applied for housing at Hafalnod.
“Members feel that an idea of the numbers requesting the various types of dwellings and where the applicants came from will help inform us in our bid to ensure that any social housing developed at Brynhir will be the subject of a similar local letting policy,” he added.
