This glowing array of poppies adorning the railings of St. John’s Church, Pembroke Dock was knitted and crocheted by volunteers, mobilised by Cl. Maureen Colgan.

In preparation for the Remembrance Sunday parade, the town council, with help of volunteers has been lining the route with poppies and 22 military silhouettes.

The inspiration came from Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd, of Pembroke Dock, whose efforts have been joined by the Sunderland Trust, West Wales Maritime Museum, Mens Shed, LBS Builders’ Merchants and Lamphey?Caravans.

Remembrance events start on November 1st with a First World War exhibition at the Heritage Centre, Pembroke Dock. The Lady Chapel at St. Johns Church, where the names of those who served with the Shropshire Regiment are displayed, will be open from 10 am until midday every day from November 1st until November 9.
