For the second year running, Pembroke Power Station is supporting the junior and mini teams at Pembroke Dock Harlequins RFC, Pembroke Dock.

This year's sponsorship has assisted the club in providing their 180 members with an individual all-weather training top.

Andrew McDonald, under 12s coach and co-runner of the mini and junior sides for Harlequins RFC, Pembroke Dock, said: "Local children now have the appropriate clothes to train in all weathers and stay safe."

Mair Lewis, community relations, Pembroke Power Station, added: "This is a thriving club and the tops will help many local children, so we are very pleased to be able to support them. Last year, the station was able to support the club to replace training equipment such as pads and balls, so there is plenty for the teams to train with."

Harlequins rugby junior teams train on a Friday night and play matches on a Sunday. The teams are run by parents and volunteers, so the support of local businesses is vital to providing the opportunity for youngsters to participate in sport. There are teams for boys and girls aged from under seven to under 16.

The under-7s and under-8s start by playing tag rugby, with a progressive scheme taking them up to full contact rugby by the age of 15. The club is open to any new members and welcomes helpers.
