November 30 dawned grey and damp, but anyone who called in at the Tenby RNLI Christmas Coffee Morning at The Qube, in Tudor Square found a warm welcome, a roaring fire, and delicious coffee and mince pies!
Usually the committee members are too busy making coffee and washing up to enjoy the event but this year the Qube did it all.
Matthew Ronowitz kindly donated the coffee and mince pies and Gill and the two waitresses ensured that everyone was served quickly, efficiently and with a smile.
Thanks, too goes to Tenby Tea and Coffee Company for their coffee donation.
A splendid array of prizes meant that the raffle tickets sold like hot cakes, and the RNLI gift and card stall manned by the redoubtable Doreen Mortimer did brisk business all morning.
It was lovely to see the mix of regular RNLI supporters and visitors getting to know each other and members were delighted when first prize in the raffle went to a young couple, David and Lyndsey, just moving into the area to live.
The final total raised was a magnificent £550 and in addition, Doreen took over £230 on her stall.
At a time when fund-raising for all charities is particularly difficult this was a great result for Tenby RNLI fundraisers.
President Shan and Chairman, Nicole expressed thanks to everyone who came along and particularly to Gill and the girls for their hard work.
A special thanks must go to Matthew for, once again ,supporting Tenby RNLI. It is wonderful to have such support from a local businessman.
It was certainly a great way to begin the Christmas festivities and the committee members would like to wish all their supporters a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
