• It was Mental Health Awareness Week last week and there were lots of engaging posts supporting people with good mental health hints and tips. It’s still not always easy to share the issues we have with our mental health but there were some really heartfelt messages of support and thanks in the Saundersfoot Connect group this week. It is so important to keep the conversations going all year and the admin team are mindful of this and very happy to feel that in some small way the droup is doing its bit to support the community in this way.
• There are so many fabulously creative and talented people in the area, there are plans afoot to gather a selection of videos for an online Saundersfoot Variety Show! Music, songs, jokes, tricks, dances - whatever you think will be entertaining is welcome. If you’d like to be included please put forward your short video clips to [email protected]. Entries from everyone of all ages are welcome.
• Flo Croxford, aged nine, has now finished her sunflower project raising money for Greenacres Animal Rescue and has raised the grand total of £180! “Thank you to everyone who bought a sunflower and helped support my chosen charity,” said Flo. Well done Flo, you have done a fabulous job.
• We have mentioned before the fabulous fundraising efforts of twins Bethany and Seren Rose. They have for a number of weeks been raising funds to reward their heroes within Saundersfoot. They began by baking and selling their now famous Barker Biscuits and have now diversified into selling tomato plants and supplying sunflower seeds to neighbours and friends. This week thanks to the generosity and support of Carly Odley from Lime Tree Boutique, Seren and Bethany gave a ‘thankyou’ gift to staff at Saundersfoot School and the Saundersfoot Connect admin team.
• This week Bethany and Seren Rose were also the recipients of a free fish and chip supper, courtesy of Tenby Fish Bar, as a ‘thank you’ for all the hard work they’re putting in to their Barker Biscuits enterprise. Well done girls.
• This week’s 60 seconds with….., was with Gill Balding, of Stoney Bridge Luxury Bed & Breakfast.
