A puppy born with six legs, found abandoned outside the B&M store in Pembroke Dock last September, has started her new life at the beach.

After being rescued and taken in by Greenacres Animal Rescue, Haverfordwest, the outpouring of support from followers was overwhelming.

Following an operation in January to remove the extra legs, the beautiful cocker spaniel was adopted in April.

Named after the heroine in Walt Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Ariel, who reaches her second birthday in December, has appropriately been adopted by a couple who teach disabled people how to surf.

Helped by the dedication of foster mum June, Ariel’s journey has been remarkable, with numerous medical appointments and media appearances on radio, TV, and newspapers.
