Pictured outside Sarah’s Newsagents and Whitland Post Office is 17-year-old Chloe Sidebotham.
Chloe was attending Pembrokeshire College in December 2017 and was offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to India and assist locals in building shade houses and schools. The total cost of the expedition was in excess of £4,000 which had to be self-funded. Chloe and seven fellow students travel in July this year.
Working extra hours around college course work last year, receiving a donation from Whitland Town Council and small fundraising events, Chloe has nearly achieved her target.
Here she is pictured receiving £700 from staff at Sarah’s who have sold raffles, cardigans, hand-knit products and held a weekly bonus ball to raise funds to help Chloe on her way.
Said post-master Barry Chapman: “The generosity of our customers has been amazing and we are so happy that we were able to help towards a unique opportunity for Cloe.”
A massive thank you to all who helped along the way.
