Tenby Friendship Club members came back from their Half Term break all dressed up posh, or dressed in red white and blue.
The members, both ladies and gentlemen, had put a lot of thought into what to wear for celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. Additionally, the committee had decorated the tables with the appropriate colours, even to the extent of having red white and blue flowers! It was much appreciated that the Tenby Project had left their bunting etc. hanging around the hall. The whole hall was so festive.
The afternoon tea was lavish, with sandwiches, savouries, etc. and then followed by Victoria sponges, and cream apple pies, etc. Whilst everyone was eating, each table was judged and one winner chosen. Shirley D told everybody that she has sourced portraits of the Queen as prizes, and there was a wave of laughter when the winners were presented with a pound coin with, of course, the Queen’s head on each! The photo below shows Shirley, Pam, Joan and Sylvia. A raffle was held, with great prizes including a handmade doll, which was the first winner’s choice, for her grand- daughter, to the sorrow of several other ladies who had also wanted to win the doll!
The meeting on June 22 is pre-booked fish or chicken and chips delivered to the hall. Please bring your own knife and fork and sauces! 2 pm at Augustus Place Hall. The following week is also pre-booked - a trip to Aberglasney Gardens. Please contact Ann or Pam regarding fish and chips orders, and Jan Hill about Aberglasney. There will be no meeting on June 29. Jan also needs to be contacted by any members wishing to go on the Chatsworth Trip in December.
