Tenby lived up to its Welsh name Dinbych-y-Psygod (Little fort of fishes) as members of the Friendship Club tucked into their afternoon tea on Wednesday.
It was their annual fish and chips afternoon tea. Shirley spoke about a baby woodpecker and its parents, a Jay, and a huge flock of Chaffinches coming to her garden.
At the gathering, one of the members told the secretary she had received a message from her cousin in Canada to say it was a lovely photo of her in the Observer. This was before the Observer was in the local shops, which just goes to show how far news of Tenby spreads!
Jan spoke about the Mystery Trip which is happening this week on Wednesday, July 5. The coach leaves at 9.15am sharp and will be back in Tenby around 4pm. None of the members knows where they are going.
On July 12 members will be entertained by Storyteller, Mr Phillip Okwedy at Augustus Place Hall at 2pm.
The last meeting before the summer holidays on July 19 is a Scavenger Hunt within the Hall.
The Club members are thrilled with the Tenby in Bloom garden around Augustus Place Hall, and thank the members who volunteered with early morning watering.
