Tenby town council will be distributing a leaflet around the community in the next few days with advice on support during the Coronavirus crisis - aiming to reach those not on social media.
The council has asked for volunteer groups/businesses to inform them as to what services/assistance they can provide to the local community so that they can build up a database to point those that contact their offices in the right direction for help.
“There are so many wonderful people in Tenby and the surrounding area pulling together to help others in these unprecedented circumstances,” said the town clerk Andrew Davies.
“Tenby Town Council is still operating and would like to help co-ordinate all these various initiatives to ensure that people can receive assistance.”
The leaflet offering support will be aimed at those in the most vulnerable categories, such as: anyone aged over 70; those with immune deficiency; those with underlying health conditions; and anyone with symptoms of COVID-19.
“If you require support please contact the office for assistance. If we are unable to assist directly, we will be able to put you in touch with someone who can,” continued Mr. Davies.
If you would like to assist in a volunteer capacity, you can also contact the town council via telephone on 01834 842730, email at: [email protected] or [email protected] and via Facebook.
County councillor for Tenby’s south Ward and town councillor Clr. Mike Evans said: “This is a situation which changes day to day, hour to hour, and we are all doing our best to cope, and react appropriately, and help each other.
“As a local business man, I am liaising with the other traders in town to see how we can assist each other, and share advice and guidelines, especially as to how to look after our numerous employees.
“As a town and county councillor, I am receiving daily updates, and if anyone would like to contact me personally with their queries and concerns I shall do my utmost to help them. And as a friend and member of our local community, if I can be of help in any way, then again I encourage you to get in touch,” he added.
