Tenby RNLI Fundraising Committee began this year’s May Day campaign with a May Day Mile bucket collection walk around the town ending up on Tenby harbour, while many individuals have done their own mile, either swimming, hopping, running walking, indeed anything to raise funds for this vitally important organisation.
Many have donated online and others have given to committee members. Grateful thanks go to everyone who has taken part in any way.
In the middle of May, committee member Linzi Sellers did her own bit for the MayDay campaign by opening her beautiful garden in Narberth to walk a gentle mile around her lovely collection of aromatic and colourful plants and flowers. A stall selling plants, herbs and gardening paraphernalia proved very popular as did the tea, coffee, and delicious cakes on offer, baked by the talented Debbie Merrony. The sun shone, the company was great and the surroundings stunning, and to cap it all, almost £700 was raised for the Tenby RNLI. Thanks must go to Linzi for her generous hospitality and for sharing her lovely garden with everyone.
The next fundraising event will be on Sea Sunday, July 10, when a service will be held on the harbour and a Welsh Tea will be served by committee members. All are most welcome.
