The organisers of the first TenFoot Swim - an endurance swimming event from Tenby to Saundersfoot - are pleased to announce the TenFoot Trek.

After seeing off the swimmers from Tenby’s North Beach on July 15, participants will then embark on a walk - or trek - along the coastal path from Tenby to Saundersfoot.

Walkers will not only take in the breath-taking views of our Pembrokeshire coast, but also be able to track the progress of the estimated 200 swimmers as they swim the 5k distance, which promises to be a spectacular sight!

The TenFoot Swim and Trek is a charity event, with all of the proceeds going to two worthy causes, Bloodwise and the Rory Rogers Fund.

With the swim and trek finishing in Saundersfoot, the organisers felt it was important to support local Saundersfoot man, Rory Rogers. Rory suffered life-changing brain injuries after an attack in the village in November 2013.

This has resulted in him requiring around the clock, specialist care and equipment which he receives in Ty Cwm, Johnstown, a Leonard Cheshire Care Home. Funds raised will go towards providing vital rehabilitation therapies for Rory.

Anyone wishing to take part in the TenFoot Trek to support these charities and the swimmers can register online at www.tenfootswim.co.uk. Registration is £15 for adults, £7.50 for children under 12 and includes a TenFoot Trek t-shirt. T-shirts are also available to buy from Tojaz, Saundersfoot, The Chemist Inn, Saundersfoot, or The Lounge, Tenby.
