The VJ Day wreath-laying service was held at the County Cenotaph and was conducted by the Burma Star chaplain, Canon Geoffrey Gwyther.

The Burma Star wreath was laid by Mrs. Doreen Warlow, secretary of Pembrokeshire Burma Star Association.

The roll of honour was read by Clr. Sue Murray, Mayor of Haverfordwest, and Clr. Chris Thomas, Sheriff of Haverfordwest, while the poem ‘Hiraeth’ was read by Clr. Wynne Evans, chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council.

Mrs. Barbara Thomas laid the wreath on behalf of the town council, and the standard bearers were Ken Humphries and Frank Jenkins.
